“Ken Finch has worked as an illustrator for the UCLA Ergonomics website for the last 2 years. His work is consistently completed in a professional and timely manner. He is able to illustrate the primary points we want to present through his artistic skills and knowledge of anatomy. Taking great pride in his work, he maintains a close collaboration with material authors, and will re-work his drawings until everyone involved is satisfied with the results. He is easy to work with and produces high quality illustrations. I highly recommend him as an illustrator and website illustration consultant.”

Smile Transplant Elevating Gracilis CRPD
“Ken Finch did all of the illustrations for my 221-page book “Microvascular Reconstruction”. The book was written for surgeons working in the new field of reconstructive microsurgery. As the book was primarily an atlas of surgical technique, the ability to convey the technical messages was very dependent on good illustrations. There were 22 operative chapters and each had a sequence 6 to 20 illustrations. Each step of every operation required a clear illustration of that part of the operation. The illustrations were critical to conveying the message and Ken was totally successful in doing this. I was particularly pleased by the effort that he took to fully understand each operation. He had the skill of putting himself into the mind of the reader in order to understand what visual information was needed. Each illustration was then a precise and appropriate message. o a large part the success of the book was due to Ken’s contribution as a skilled illustrator. I had many comments from readers about how well the text and the illustrations went together to make this into a great teaching book. Ken is hard working, a good communicator, able to work to a schedule, and an easy-to-work-with team player. I would be delighted to have him work with me again.”

“I worked with Ken Finch to develop a logo for a theater company I direct. The type of theater our company does is a unique form of improvisation where we take real moments from the lives of the audience members and then use music, sound, movement and dialogue to create a work of art from their stories. This is not an easy concept to illustrate. Ken observed a performance and then he and I talked at length about the essence of our work. Ken was easy to work with, thoughtful and creative in his approach. He listened to me and created a logo that perfectly evoked our mission and beautifully illustrates the invitation we offer our audience to share their stories.”

“Ken Finch captured the essence and vitality of OSHOGATSU IN OLYMPIA, the Japanese celebration of the New Year, with his adaptation of Hokusai’s classic wood cut print to the poster heralding the event. Also, the simple elegance of a new logo Ken designed for our banner and printed program used appropriate symbolism and lent even more authenticity to the event. Together with skillful layout and messaging, Ken’s appealing graphics boosted public attendance beyond the expectations of the organizers. His timely contributions of eye-catching art inspired volunteers and set a standard of excellence for all aspects of this event.”

Samba Olywa Dancers
“I am an amateur musician with a great love for the rhythms and movements of samba. When I first saw Ken Finch’s spare, sensual drawings of samba dancers, my heart and mind went kerchunk. He totally got it. Absolute perfection.”

“Ken’s cartoon drawings are quite original, and his artistic ability draws people of all ages into the subject matter. He has the important ability to understand the operational aspects of a subject like logging and hauling operations, and brings the subject matter to life in both serious and humorous fashions. He gets the message across. Ken is flexible and able to creatively adapt to one’s vision for a project, and has the patience to work with a client and modify his work, often creating several versions to choose from.”
